Reconciliation
Repent to confess your sins to God.
Reconciliation
At Saint Ann’s, we offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation — also known as confession or penance — as a sacred opportunity for those who repent to confess their sins to God in the presence of a priest. Through this sacramental rite, individuals receive the assurance of pardon and the grace of absolution, as described in the Book of Common Prayer.
This ministry of reconciliation is a gift from God, “who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18). At Saint Ann’s, we believe that Christ entrusted this ministry to the Church, and it is carried out through the care Christians show for one another, our prayers together in worship, and the priestly ministry of declaring God’s forgiveness.
The Reconciliation of a Penitent is not limited to times of illness. Confessions may be heard at any time and in any place by appointment with a priest. All confessions are kept in strict confidence, and all are welcome to seek this healing grace.
