Cemetery Committee

The Garden of the Unforgotten is a non-denominational cemetery managed by the Vestry of Saint Ann’s Church.

Established in 1874, it is the consecrated burial ground of Saint Ann’s Church in Sayville. Known for its natural beauty and rich history, the cemetery is the final resting place of many notable local families, including the Suydams and Roosevelts. Among them is General Philippe de Trobriand, a French aristocrat and Civil War veteran.

Recent additions include a Lych Gate, designed by local artist William Colson; the Stations of the Cross, along the walking path; and the Labyrinth, a peaceful path for meditation and prayer.
