SUNDAY SCHOOL

Let the children come to me;
do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of God.

Children's Christian Education

On the first Sunday of every month, the 10am service will be the Family Worship Service where we will all worship together in the main sanctuary. This service will be family-friendly and engaging for young and old alike.

On the subsequent Sundays of the month, Sunday School will take place during the first portion of the 10am services during Liturgy of the Word (that is: the readings, sermon, and Prayers of the People).

  • We will all gather together in the main sanctuary in the Lord’s name and hear the Collect of the day.
  • After the Collect, the Sunday School children will follow the cross from the nave to the parish hall.
  • Sunday School participants will have their own Liturgy of the Word, where they will hear and unpack the same scriptures as the rest of the parish but at an age-appropriate level.
  • Sunday School participants will have their own Prayers of the People (their own prayers for friends and family).
  • Sunday School lessons, activities, & prayers should take 20-25 minutes.
  • Sunday School participants will then rejoin the rest of the parish in the main sanctuary for the Peace and the Eucharist.

Lessons are taught by a combination of clergy and participating parent/adults.

We ask for at least one adult from every participating family to help support Sunday School either as an assistant or lead teacher when needed. This person can be a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc. If the idea of assisting or even leading a Sunday School lesson feels daunting, be not afraid--we will be there to support you.

All educational materials are provided by St. Ann's Episcopal Church.

Confirmation Class is offered to students in seventh grade and above.  To be eligible for this program, you must attend church regularly, be known to the Rector, and sign up when classes are offered (as needed).
