BUILDINGS & GROUNDS
Buildings and Grounds meets every month and their focus is the upkeep and maintenance of our beautiful campus and its buildings. Whatever help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
CEMETERY COMMITTEE
St. Ann's Garden of the Unforgotten, is a non-denominational cemetery and only human remains will be interred. The Vestry of St Ann’s has complete jurisdiction over the management of the Cemetery.
Established in 1874, St. Ann’s Cemetery is the consecrated land owned by St. Ann’s Church, Sayville, and holds prominence in the community with its natural beauty and local history. This picturesque cemetery contains the graves of many notable local people. Among those interred here are members of the Suydam, Roosevelt, Post and Smith families, including General (Baron) Philippe de Trobriand, a French aristocrat who married into the Post family and served both in the American Civil War and in the American West.
Lych Gate and 14 Stations of Cross are both are recent additions to grounds. England has long had a tradition of lych gates which sheltered mourners from the elements while they awaited a burial. This one was designed by William Colson, a well-known local artist who is also buried in the cemetery. The Stations of the Cross are on a walkway to the right beyond the lych gate.
Walking the Labyrinth is a form of mediation and prayer. This document provides a way to experience the labyrinth: Walking the Labyrinth

CHRISTMAS FAIR MINISTRY
St. Ann's hosts a Christmas Fair in our Parish Hall the first Saturday of December every year, and it is open to all. Please consider donating a new item or items to either the basket auction or the raffle. Think about asking family, friends and any businesses you frequent to donate as well. Gift cards and cash donations (which will be used to purchase an item) are always welcome. It's not too early, we have already started to receive donations!
Donations can be dropped off on Sundays during services 8:00am-11:00am. Make sure your name and basket contents are listed with each donation. Please contact Nancy Koinoglou at (631) 567-4322 (basket auction) if you have any questions. Thank you!

CHRISTMAS TREE MINISTRY
The St. Ann Church's Christmas Tree Lot commences each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It is a great fundraiser for St. Ann's and it brings local friends and neighbors back to our beautiful church every year. As a Parishioner, it is lots of fun to volunteer and sell trees for St. Ann's and meet the community. If you would like to assist, please contact the church office.
COFFEE HOUR
The Coffee Hour is the ideal place for St. Ann's Parishioners to get to know each other better. We are always looking for parishioners and church groups to host Coffee Hour. Duties include setting up hot & cold beverage offerings which are available in the Parish Hall kitchen. Many volunteers also supply easy breakfast foods & some tasty treats. It is especially nice to consider bringing foods for all ages. Coffee Hour takes place after both the 8am and the 10am services on Sundays. You can find more details in the Parish Hall--look for the Coffee Hour bulletin board and sign up folder. Call/Email the Church office to find out more & to sign up.
MEN'S GROUP
The Saint Ann's Men’s Group has evolved from being a service organization with veriable projects completed around the Church and Parish Hall to a ministry dedicated to the fellowship and nurturing of its members. In the past we even had a workshop below the Sanctuary where we made bird houses and crafts for sale at St. Ann’s Christmas Fair. Until the pandemic shut us down, Chairman Joe provided bagels, cream cheese, and set up coffee in the Parish Hall.
Because of ongoing COVID restrictions, the group has elected to meet each Tuesday at the Main Street Diner to renew fellowship, exchange news, and reminisce about local history—and to enjoy breakfast. Neither rain nor snow nor COVID could stop the Group from resuming our weekly routines and we celebrate that at the Main Street Diner across from St. Lawrence’ Church. We always have an open chair for YOU! We look forward to another engaging year of good food and lively conversation, please join us!

THE ORDER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE KING — St. John the Apostle Chapter
During the pandemic, Carol Ann St Lawrence and Marge Rogers have been working on many quilting, knitting and crocheting projects while confined at home. We partnered with St. Boniface Episcopal Church DOK Chapter in Lindenhurst to provide items for families in shelters and a new nursing home for the homeless. Our busy hands made Christmas gifts for many in need.
The DOK Chapter has been reorganized to meet for prayer and scriptural study with Mother Lilo. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 12pm in the Littlejohn Building. All women of the Parish are invited to join us.
