ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASS
Beginning in February 8, 2012
Wednesdays @ 7:30pm at Parish Hall
(dates subject to change)
Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation, along with Baptism and Eucharist. The Sacrament of Confirmation draws us into a greater awareness of the Holy Spirit, which we received at Baptism. Through this sacrament, we confirm the presence of the baptismal gifts we have already received; we are sealed with the gift -- undeserved and unearned -- of the Holy Spirit. Some adults want to learn about the Church before they become involved in community life, while others get involved and then desire a way to formalize their relationship to the Church and God.
As this is an ongoing process, all who are interested would be welcome. Some want to refresh their understanding of the Church and some might just wish to find out what the Episcopal Church is all about. For those who wish to be confirmed or received, attendance is mandatory.
Those interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church should call the church office and speak to Fr. Farrell. Instruction will begin in early February and run through April. The date for Confirmation this year is May 5th at St. Peter's in Bay Shore.
